Industries from aerospace, electronics, high value metal parts fabrication to biomedical devices and pharmaceuticals rely on properly prepared and well characterized surfaces to ensure the performance of a process, or the final properties of a product.

Virtually every industry has specific requirements with respect to properly maintained and characterized surfaces. To meet the need for surface analysis in out-of-lab or field sites, A2 Technologies developed the Exoscan and Flexscan,  portable hand held FTIR’s capable of  addressing a wide range of surfaces of varied compositions.  A2 Technologies systems are the only commercially available hand held FTIR systems with the performance, ease-of-use, ruggedness and all necessary sampling interfaces to handle the analysis of contaminants, residues and coatings on polished metal, rough metal, composites, plastics and glasses.

Because these analyzers are meant to be brought to the object requiring analysis, items that are too large, too valuable to disassemble, or just impractical to analyze in any other means other than in situ, are readily handled by the Exoscan and Flexscan FTIR systems.  With the Exoscan and Flexscan FTIR analyzers, critical surface characteristics can be easily and non-destructively qualified, ensuring that the objects meet their design criteria in critical applications.
